The Alagad ni Maria (AM)
is a religious institute dedicated to forming men who are called to serve God and His people through a life of prayer, ministry, and evangelization.
Rooted in the example of Mary, the Mother of God, the AM vocation is a commitment to live out the Gospel with deep faith, humility, and unwavering devotion.
What is the Alagad ni Maria Vocation?
The AM vocation is an invitation to respond to God’s call by embracing a life of holiness and service. Those who enter the seminary undergo spiritual, pastoral, and academic formation to prepare them for the mission of shepherding souls and proclaiming the Good News. Inspired by the virtues of Mary, the Alagad ni Maria strive to cultivate a heart that listens, obeys, and loves unconditionally.
Who Can Join?
The Alagad ni Maria welcomes young men who feel a deep desire to dedicate their lives to the Church and serve as instruments of God’s love.
If you are:

A male with a strong desire to serve God and His Church,

Willing to commit to seminary formation and spiritual growth,

An incoming Grade 11 student, Senior High School student, College student, or Young Professional,

Open to being formed in the Marian way of discipleship, then the AM vocation may be for you.
Formation and Mission
The formation program of Alagad ni Maria is designed to equip seminarians with theological knowledge, pastoral experience, and a strong spiritual foundation. Throughout their journey, they are nurtured in prayer, community life, and apostolic service, preparing them to become compassionate and dedicated religious servants.
Once fully professed, members of Alagad ni Maria engage in various ministries, including:

Marian devotion.

The Journey
AM Family Day 2025: Strengthening Bonds and Nurturing Vocations

On January 18-19, 2025, the Alagad ni Maria community hosted Family Day 2025 at the seminary in Antipolo. Organized by Rev. Fr. Ian Bustonera, AM, the event aimed to foster connections between the parents of seminarians, provide insight into their children's life within the seminary, and equip them with the knowledge to support their sons in their vocation to the priesthood.
A Warm Welcome and Open House
The event commenced at 9:00 AM with a guided tour for parents, allowing them to explore the seminarians' dormitories, the library, and other seminary facilities. This was followed by a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Florante Moren, AM, setting a solemn and meaningful tone for the gathering. After the Mass, everyone shared a delightful lunch, reinforcing the sense of community.
Getting to Know One Another
In the afternoon, parents and seminarians gathered at Labayen’s Hall for an introduction session. Each seminarian and parent had the opportunity to introduce themselves, fostering a sense of familiarity and camaraderie. Later, Fr. Peter Lavin, AM, led a recollection session, followed by a short sharing period where participants reflected on their journey of faith and vocation.
Evening of Reflection and Celebration
As the evening progressed, Fr. Dexter Nebrida, AM, delivered an inspiring talk, setting the stage for a special gift-giving activity between the parents and their sons. The seminarians then showcased their talents through dance performances, adding a touch of joy and entertainment to the gathering.
A Meaningful Conclusion
The final day of Family Day 2025 focused on strengthening collaboration between parents and the Alagad ni Maria community. Discussions were held on financial matters, including tuition fees, ensuring that parents felt supported in their children’s journey to the priesthood.
The event culminated in a solemn Sunday Mass at Saint Joseph Husband of Mary Chapel, presided over by Fr. Mark Aaron Riomalos, AM. The celebration concluded with a heartwarming Barrio Fiesta lunch, where everyone shared a meal and reflected on the meaningful experience.
A Transformative Experience
For many seminarians, Family Day 2025 was an emotional and enlightening experience. The joy of reuniting with their parents and showcasing their life in the seminary brought a deep sense of pride and fulfillment. Parents, in turn, gained clarity and reassurance about their sons’ vocation. What was once uncertainty and worry transformed into full support, with heartfelt words of encouragement such as, “Ituloy-tuloy mo lang, Indong. Mahal na mahal ka namin.”
The event underscored the importance of strong family support in nurturing priestly vocations. As the seminarians continue their journey, they do so with renewed strength, knowing that they are backed by their parents’ love and the unwavering support of the Alagad ni Maria community.
Nurturing Faith and Values: A Fulfilling Journey in AM Sunday School

Teaching the youth has been an unexpected yet fulfilling journey in my novitiate life. It is a privilege to serve and guide young minds, and I can sum up my experience in one word: grateful. Seeing the eagerness of the children to learn and witnessing their growth in faith and values brings immense happiness and fulfillment to my vocation.
One of the greatest blessings of teaching Sunday School is the mutual learning experience. While I impart knowledge
about moral values, I, too, learn valuable lessons from them. Their stories, struggles, and triumphs inspire me and strengthen my resolve to continue my vocation. Their simple yet profound insights remind me of the beauty of faith and the importance of perseverance in one's calling.
What makes this journey even more special is the bond I have formed with my students. Teaching young people, from Grade 1 to college, has allowed me to gain not only students but also a new family—brothers, sisters, and younger siblings. It is heartwarming to see that despite their busy school schedules, they still choose to attend Sunday School because they find joy and meaning in it.
Our primary focus in Sunday School is to instill moral values and deepen the children's understanding of the teachings of the Church. We aim to make Sunday School a second home for them—a place where they can grow spiritually, ask questions freely, and strengthen their faith. Seeing their smiles and knowing that they are learning something valuable reassures me that this mission is worth pursuing.
Indeed, teaching the youth in Sunday School has been one of the best experiences of my vocation. It is a journey filled with faith, love, and inspiration, and I am grateful for every moment spent guiding and learning alongside these young souls. Their enthusiasm and dedication remind me of the importance of this ministry, and I will continue to embrace this calling with joy in my heart.
Teaching Sunday School is more than just a responsibility—it is a source of fulfillment, a mission of faith, and a journey of love. And for that, I will always be grateful.
